This beautiful medium beaded Lion in lime green is completely handmade in a women’s collective based in and around Cape Town, South Africa. Sometimes we stumble across something extra special and these beautiful beaded animals are some of the most special pieces we have ever found. I first discovered Monkeybiz several years ago and then on a recent trip to South Africa I made a special effort to search them out. Made by the brilliant Monkeybiz artisans in South Africa. These are art pieces. Each one is designed and made by beaders in their own patterns and colours so each artist makes her own animal and every piece becomes unique. The brands empowerment approach is remarkable as it encourages the woman to have dignity and pride in their work.
