The Mallorca Ikat Placemat in Purple was woven by hand using traditional methods, this Ikat print has been synonymous in Mallorcan homes for centuries. The Ikat print or "Roba de Llengües" as it is know as in Mallorca, was first introduced to the Mediterranean island by traders returning from Asia along The Silk Road.
These Placemats are carefully made by a family run business, still using the designs and creations of their grandfather who founded the studio in the 1950's.
